Many watersports are on offer on the beaches of Elounda as well as by the hotel resorts north of the town center of Aghios Nicolaos (5 kms).
In the evening, local guests as well as people from all corners of the world meet in the tavernas and bars of Elounda.
The kafenions and bars around lake Voulismeni in the town center of  Aghios Nicolaos (8 kms) are of particular flair.

Life here is more quiet and less hectical than in some other tourism resorts in Crete as the town still preserves it's original Mediterranean ambiente.
